New Lease of Life for Wildlife Education Centre at
Stapeley Grange RSPCA Unit, Shropshire!
WildAid have formed a partnership with the RSPCA and C J Wildlife to re-launch the wildlife education centre at Stapeley Grange in Shropshire. Stapeley Grange is one of the four RSPCA wildlife centres and they deal with thousands of birds and animals every year. Attached to the centre is an amazing indoor and outdoor classroom resource and between the three organisations we intent to fill the potential it offers. This is a fantastic opportunity for schools and the wider community in the area to learn how to reduce animal welfare cases and realise the impact that humans have on wildlife.
The WildAid ethos is the belief that feeling connected to nature is essential to protecting the environment and the facility at Stapeley Grange will provide much needed wildlife education. Whilst we support rehabilitation of injured or threatened wildlife we have public awareness and education at our core and we aim to reach out not only to those who already care for wildlife but also to people that do not have the opportunity to be involved with nature and so our goal for this project is to help to provide inclusive accessible wildlife experiences.
Generous donations from CJ Wildlife customers have made it possible to kick start the re-establishment of the education room and wildlife habitat that the RSPCA created in 1995 and WildAid will be providing an education officer to assist in the development of the programme. This important resource has been sitting dormant for ten years and the contributions from all three partner organisations mean that it is set to get a new lease of life!
The aim is to have the programme up and running by September and so a lot of hard work will be going on around behind the scenes. Regular updates will be posted on our websites and if you follow any of the partners on Facebook or Twitter there are sure to be lots of progress reports…watch this space!
WildAid are thrilled to be a part of this much needed project and would be very grateful for your continued support of this and all of our other charitable activities!
